My son is ten turning eleven & is still wetting the bed is this normal or should I take him to a doctor. I have tried everything & can not think of anything else to do.

Unfortunately the older children get the less likely the are to outgrow their bedwetting without the need for intervention. Given his age and the negative impact bedwetting can have on children's self-esteem - it is absolutely time to follow this up with your GP. There are a number of treatment options available with conditioning alarms typically producing the best results. Whether you choose to go with this option will depend on a number of factors including whether your son shares a room (as the alarm can be quite disturbing) as well as the support structures you have in place. In the meantime reassure your son that this is in no way his fault and that it will only be a matter of time before he is waking up dry!! Kind Regards, Dr Cathrine Kind Regards, Dr Cathrine
